Born in Haifa (Israel), Assaf holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design with distinction from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem (2006).
In 2005 he attended a student exchange program in Instituto Europeo di Design, Milan.
Prior to his studies Assaf created collage artworks which have been presented in several exhibitions in Israel and worked for 2 years as a graphic designer for a printing house in Tel Aviv. After graduating, he worked for a year as a designer of stands and points of purchase, focusing on sales promotion. The next 3 years he garnered experience as an independent toy designer, where he focused on comprehensive product development. ​In 2011 he went on a one year tour around the world and visited 13 countries. During his tour he was collaborating with Arriola and Fiol Architects in Barcelona, working on a new public seating system and solar street lighting. These days Assaf is based in Tel Aviv and developing new elements for public spaces, whilst placing an emphasis on elevating unfamiliar and new ways to experience these spaces. Assaf's inspiration comes from observing people and exploring new cultures, from textures and colors that exist in nature, artworks and music.
